About Saturn

Saturn was a General Motors brand. GM established Saturn Corporation on January 7, 1985. Its headquarters was in Spring Hill, Tennessee, until 2007, and then in Detroit, Michigan, until 2010.1

Saturn used a no-haggle sales approach. Its early cars had dent-resistant polymer body panels.1

The models included the S-Series compact cars, the Ion, the Vue crossover, the Aura sedan, the Sky roadster and the Outlook crossover. Later models were badge-engineered Opel vehicles. Sales peaked in 1994 at 286,003 vehicles.1

A planned sale to Penske Automotive Group failed in September 2009. Saturn ended production in October 2009 and ended its franchises on October 31, 2010.1

Saturn cars built from 1996 onward support OBD-II.2
