About Buick
Buick is a division of General Motors. David Dunbar Buick established the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company in December 1899. The Buick name first appeared on an automobile in 1903. On September 16, 1908, William C. Durant incorporated Buick into a new company, General Motors.12
GM positions Buick as a premium brand between Chevrolet and Cadillac. The Buick Motor Company incorporated in Detroit on May 19, 1903.3
As of 2026, the North American range has four models. These are the Enclave, the Encore GX, the Envision and the Envista. In June 2022, Buick announced a plan to move its whole range to electric vehicles by 2030.34
New gasoline and alternative fuel cars and trucks sold in the United States have needed OBD II systems since the 1996 model year. Buick vehicles sold there since that year support OBD-II.5
