About Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo is an Italian car brand. Ugo Stella and other Milan businessmen established it in 1910 as ALFA, after they bought a former Darracq assembly plant at Portello. Nicola Romeo acquired the company in 1915 and added his surname to the name. Alfa Romeo is now a brand of Stellantis, with headquarters in Turin.12

The brand has a long record in motorsport. Nino Farina won the first Formula One drivers’ title in 1950 with an Alfa Romeo. Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1951 title with an Alfetta.34

Current models include the Giulia sedan, the Stelvio SUV and the Tonale crossover. Alfa Romeo announced the Tonale in February 2022. The Junior is a smaller model that the brand introduced in 2024.56

European petrol cars have used EOBD since model year 2001, and European diesel cars since 2004.7
