About Lexus

Lexus is the luxury vehicle division of Toyota Motor Corporation. Lexus delivered its first cars to customers in the United States in September 1989.1

Toyota planned the brand around the total ownership experience. That experience included a vehicle with no defects and good service from the dealer. The first Lexus flagship was the LS 400, which had a list price of just under $40,000 in 1989.1

A few months after the launch, Lexus recalled every LS 400 it had sold. Dealers collected each car from the owner and left a loaner car free of charge. The dealer returned the repaired car washed and with a full tank of fuel.1

In March 2006, BusinessWeek reviewed the RX 400h, the hybrid version of the Lexus RX crossover.2
