About Eagle

Eagle was a Chrysler Corporation brand. Chrysler launched it in 1988 after it acquired American Motors Corporation. The brand ended after the 1998 model year. The brand kept the AMC and Jeep dealerships as its dealer network.12

The name came from the four-wheel-drive AMC Eagle of 1980.1

The Eagle Talon was a sports car that Chrysler derived from the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The Eagle Vision was a sedan adapted from the Chrysler Intrepid. The Eagle Premier was a full-size front-wheel-drive sedan that Chrysler sold until 1992. Renault had invested in its development.2

Chrysler did not fully commit to the brand. Marketing favored Jeep products.1

Eagle cars built from 1996 onward support OBD-II.3
